Your new company
A public sector organisation in South Yorkshire is looking for someone to assist on a HR project to continue their continuous improvement journey. This will be for circa 3 months.
Your new role
Reporting to and working closely with the Head of HR in a project that is involved in further developing HR initiatives that create and added value to and the performance of the business.
You will have responsibility for:
The review of the current absence management policy and procedure and implementing a refreshed policy and procedure
Develop the Line Managers knowledge and capability of absence management through coaching/mentoring and the delivery of learning interventions to assist them
Ensure that people management capability is transferred to and owned by the Line Management and in doing so drive a new and innovative ways of HR working.
Be the HR lead for long term sickness. Identify, develop and implement interventions for the top three reasons for long term absence e.g. stress management etc.
You will also get the opportunity to contribute to the development of the HR team and to HR policies, strategies and business plans which enable the organisation's aims and objectives to be achieved
What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have a solid background and understanding in HR policy review, amendments and writing as aswell as key stake holder management and training/L&D. Employment law including case law, absence management and developing strategies and interventions that will improve sickness within an organisation.
Ideally from the public or not-for-profit arena, or a regulated industry.
CIPD qualification preferable
