A HR Advisor is required on a temporary basis for 6 months. Remote opportunity with some travel £18/20

Your new company
A National Charity requires a HR Advisor on a temporary basis for a period of 6 months. This role can be based remotely but travel to sites may also be required on occasion to support managers, this is expected to be once every couple of weeks.

Your new role

  • To act as the HR lead in the geographical regions on all matters relating to conduct, poor performance,
  • grievances and harassment, in accordance with Heritage Care's HR policies and procedures.
  • To write to staff confirming any suspensions or investigations under the disciplinary
  • procedures.
  • To coordinate with relevant managers any formal disciplinary hearings, and to confirm this in writing to
  • the employee concerned, and any relevant witnesses.
  • To represent management by sitting on formal disciplinary panels to decide the appropriate disciplinary
  • sanction. To also ensure that that correct policy and procedures are followed during any disciplinary
  • hearing.
  • To produce disciplinary outcome letters to employees following a disciplinary hearing (in agreement
  • with the relevant supporting manager).
  • To provide other ad hoc employee relations advice and support to managers and employees on a case
  • by case basis.
  • To advise managers on all matters relating to sickness absence monitoring in accordance with
  • the sickness absence procedure.
  • To attend meetings in accordance with the sickness absence procedure relating to short
  • term sickness absences, as required by the manager.
  • In conjunction with the line manager, to arrange meetings under the sickness absence
  • procedure, with regards to managing long term sickness cases. To agree targets and outcomes with
  • the employee (in agreement with the manager), and to confirm the outcomes in writing with the
  • employee afterwards. This could include the dismissal of employees.
  • To provide support to the regions on matters relating to organisational change, including restructures.
  • To deal with matters on a case by case basis relating to maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
  • To ensure that employees have a continuing right to work in the UK by regularly reviewing the
  • immigration status of staff.
  • To act as the local advisor to managers and staff on all other HR policies and procedures and main
  • terms and conditions of employment.
  • Assist with the development of the organisations HR policy and procedures as part of the senior HR
  • Department team.


What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience in an Advisory role where you have supported managers with case work. You will have a strong understanding of employment law and recent trends / developments.High level of verbal communication skills, and written skills, with experience of writing outcome letters.
The ability to manage ones own caseload, and to prioritise work with support from the wider HR team. You may need to travel to sites in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk or Buckinghamshire so a driving licence is essential. Travel is only required to support complex cases as is expected to be once every couple of weeks.
