HR Advisor - Swansea - £32,000

Your new company
Hays HR are again working in partnership with our valued Manufacturing client in Swansea. We are recruiting a HR Advisor to report to the HR Manager. Our client are based across 2 sites, your primary focus will be to support all staff within the businesses, operating as a true HR Generalist. This business has experienced huge growth over the last few years,sales have soared throughout the pandemic, the next 2 years of forecasted sales and profits are looking very impressive. This really good be a great opportunity for a candidate with an impressive HR career to date, to work alongside a very supportive and credible HR professional in building a very solid HR department.

Your new role
HR & Payroll Administration -

  • Starter and leaver administration for hourly paid and salaried staff
  • Maintaining HR files/records and the HR information system, ensuring the system is fully utilised
  • Processing of hourly paid staff time and attendance data
  • Submission of required data for payroll
  • Pension enrolment
  • Recording and managing payroll queries Recruitment
  • Create adverts/job postings and determine the most appropriate advertising medium eg internal, website¸ social media, agency
  • Identify and circulate information to Agencies
  • Support line managers to receive track and shortlist applications
  • Arrange and Support interviews ensuring line managers have the necessary skills and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Follow-up and feedback to candidates/agencies

New Employee Introduction -

  • Prepare contracts, privacy notices, job descriptions in advance of the start date and monitor return of signed documents
  • Set-up personal files
  • Ensure all new employees receive Induction on their first day
  • Ensure starter paperwork is sent to payroll
  • Prompt probation reviews and ensure outcomes are documented

Employee Relations -

  • Advise on terms and conditions of employment
  • Advise and participate in disciplinary, performance management and staff grievance process * Be a point of contact for employees and line managers alike Attendance Management
  • Holiday Administration and Reporting
  • Recording of absence data
  • Occupational Health referrals
  • Medical Report requests
  • Advise and participate in absence management process HR Systems
  • Access Control, T&A and HR System Implementation and Administration
  • Train line managers to use the systems

Key Performance Indicators

  • Maintain and develop required KPIs Miscellaneous
  • Liaison with agency staff provider on requirements and issues where required
  • Support adhoc HR projects

The above is not an exhaustive list and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessary by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • CIPD Level 5 or ability to demonstrate relevant experience
  • Previous experience of HR within the manufacturing sector
  • Previous experience in a fast growing business
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law with the ability to apply it to real life situations and full commitment to CPD Ability to manage own ER caseload, up to and including the decision to dismiss
  • Knowledge of payroll processes Previous experience of HRIS systems Experience of Mitrefinch HRIS Can do attitude with the ability to prioritise own workload and sometimes working under pressure,
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Ability to build rapport and working relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Confident decision maker who can see the bigger picture Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle for work
