A leading Financial Services organisation based in the City of London seeks a Resource PMO Manager. The purpose of this role is to drive analytics and insight into the wider organisation's change resources to inform planning, prioritisation and workforce strategy.

A Resource PMO Manager to/who:

  • Provide suggestions, recognise trends and assist in optimising resource allocation to increase probability of success of project execution.
  • Influences and support others to ensure compliance/risk requirements are met where appropriate.
  • Escalate information on emerging trends, alongside mitigating actions. This could relate to people risk, 3rd party supplier risk, financial risk etc.
  • Continuously assesses the change pipeline to align supply with demand and to highlight potential constraints in capacity & capability
  • Gives support to the Change Community, acting as a role model for wider teams
  • Building and implementing a culture that embeds model behaviours in their teams
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the different areas of the organisation as well as their change resourcing needs
  • Champions and leads of the development of a talent pipeline for change, considering the organisation's SWP
  • Plays a vital support in enabling optimisation of allocation of change resources across the organisation
  • Works with business functions to understand their resourcing needs and put plans in place to support these where appropriate
  • Collaborates with business areas across the organisation to ensure value is created through the intelligent utilisation of organisational change resources with recognition of a move towards a more agile model
  • Promotes and drives a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the operating models wider organisation remain relevant and uphold best practice
  • Adds value to the business through recommended deployment of resources that optimise project & product performance, reduce labour costs and increase talent development and retention
  • Leads on activity designed to align the recruitment & development of change personnel to the organisation's wider strategy and workforce planning
  • Supports the implementation and embedding of Plan View within the business, including the use of resource planning and time sheeting
  • Creates transparency around the firm's change resource, building analytical capability and insights with regard to utilisation, allocation, frequency of rotation, grade/role mix and resource planning (vs actuals)


A Resource PMO Manager who has / is:

  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Competent working as part of a team and comfortable when required to work alone or be self-reliant
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Influencing and negotiating skills
  • Organised and effective time management
  • Excellent use of PowerPoint/Excel/Word
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Knowledge of the Company structure and operations is desirable
  • Knowledge of the Consultancy model for resource allocation is desirable
  • Analysing and Interpreting Data
  • The ability to identify and develop talent
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, driving engagement and building support
  • The ability to confidently communicate with a range of stakeholders, from graduate to executive level
  • Ability to influence at all levels
  • Ability to build relationship quickly, and be seen as a credible and reliable source of support
  • Knowledge of agile and waterfall delivery methodologies required
  • PRINCE 2 practitioner or external PMO certification are advantageous but not mandatory
  • Degree level education in relevant subject is desirable
