As People Services Team Lead, you will manage a team of 8 who are responsible for providing a comprehensive HR administrative and first line advisory service for all employees, as well as employee lifecycle documentation and the administration of voluntary and contractual benefits. This role offers a great opportunity to improve processes and ways of working, as well coaching and developing the People Services team. Hybrid working is on offer.

Description

As People Services Team Lead for this company in Slough, you will lead the People Services Team through a period of change, evolving the service to enable the People Team to deliver a high quality customer focused transactional service to the business. You will deliver a culture of process improvement, a tight focus on data integrity and an excellent service to managers and employees.

Key Duties

  • Provide a comprehensive HR administrative and first line advisory service for all employees in the business.
  • Be responsible for the employee lifecycle documentation in line with policy and guidelines.
  • Manage the administration of voluntary and contractual benefits.
  • Manage the outcome from business audits ensuring the People outcomes are reviewed and implemented.
  • Proactively manage all ways of customer contact with the team.
  • Manage caseload, prioritise and allocate tasks in the team.
  • Proactively coach, develop and manage the performance of the team in 121 and team meetings.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements that will contribute to more efficient working practices - be a subject matter expert for all operational HR processes and share knowledge as appropriate with team.
  • Manage and escalate complaints appropriate.
  • Ensure effective controls are in place to meet GDPR and other auditable processes.
  • Work closely with other areas of the People team in particularly payroll and employee relations by answering any queries and raising any potential issues.
  • Motivate and develop engagement in the team.
  • Manage the Senior hire on-boarding and lifecycle (e.g. new Execs).
  • Support Head of People Service in People projects (pay award, TUPE, new benefits, policy updates etc.)
  • Act as HR SME on Family Friendly policies e.g. Maternity

Your Experience

  • Previous experience within a shared service environment either as a team leader or are highly experience in transactional HR and looking for first team leader role.
  • Excellent People administrative skills and ability to problem solve.
  • Track record of working in a customer focused environment where the emphasis is on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent task and time management skills.
Your Qualifications

  • Achieved or actively working towards Associate CIPD Membership.

  • Must be comfortable working at speed and with urgency, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Sound ability to multi task and prioritise work.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to identify and resolve potential problems or issues and take necessary actions to prevent them from developing or happening again.
  • Ability to identify areas for improvements in process, customer service and ways of working.
  • Highly organised and ability to plan, delegate, prioritise and multitask high volumes of work tickets.
  • Able to coach team members to improve performance and develop their skills.
  • Confident oral communication and clear, succinct written communication is essential.
  • Logical thinking style with a methodical approach to work.
  • Collaborative and flexible style with the ability to adapt approach in line with changing business needs and personalities.
  • Confident with data and MS Excel

Your Knowledge

  • Strong practical knowledge of generalist HR policies and processes.
  • Have excellent people skills and be able to work to SLA's, manage and prioritise a number of tasks at any one time.
  • Good understanding of employment law that applies to administering HR tasks.
  • Sound understanding of equality, diversity and data protection in the workplace.

This People Services Team Lead role offers:
