I have taken a nice HR Business Partner role with a Wealth Management firm based in London. The role is a real generalist opportunity, with the HR department going through an exciting transition with the centre of excellence function soon to be implemented. It will look after a client base of roughly 250 employees across the British Isles, with a support from a HR Administration (Operations) team.


  • Advice, guidance and support to Line managers and employees
  • Advice and implementation of business and department restructuring
  • Management of third party recruitment relationships
  • Advice and guidance to the Line Managers
  • Preparation and sign-off of job descriptions
  • Candidate management including short list selection, interviews
  • Partners with Line Managers for recruitment needs whilst mindful of budget, and wider considerations; internal applicants, automation, jurisdictional placement, affordability, revenue generation etc.
  • Responsible for applications for work permits, relocations etc.
  • Review of third party pre-screening relationships
  • Management of induction process including ensuring appropriate departmental arrangements are in place
  • Sign-off of new employee set-up
  • Exit interviews
  • Management of employee departures
  • Regular contact with new employees during the probation period
  • Review of the employee with the Line Manager
  • Management of the sign-off or extension as required
  • Responsible for the delivery of an effective and timely payroll process
  • Review and sign-off of payroll
  • Review of payroll related reporting
  • Responsible for the management of advisory employments in line with procedures and Handbook i.e.: Maternity, Parental, Retirement etc.
  • Contribute to any benefit renewals as required
  • Consider the implications of regulatory or legislative changes for HR policies and recommend changes
  • Protects the interests of employees in accordance with policies and governmental laws and regulations
  • Maintain an up to date Business Impact Assessment and procedures to support the defined BCP scenarios
  • Maintain data protection records including GDPR maps as required
  • To identify and make recommendations and offer solutions in way to streamline/ Enhance processes/duties in team to create greater enablement and capacity whilst managing risks
  • Partners with Facilities to assist with employer obligations for a healthy and safe working environment
  • Promotion and communication of HR initiatives, projects and policies
  • Actively participates at business and functional meetings where applicable
  • Conduct ad-hoc audit


  • CIPD Level 5 minimum
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Solid experience working in a financial services HR function essential
  • Prepared to study to attain business related qualification
  • Prepared to acquire business knowledge in order to support client needs
