Working as part of a busy HR team, the HR Advisor will report directly into the HR Manager and will provide an efficient, generalist HR service across a number of business units in the North East of England. The HR Advisor will also contribute towards HR projects, as well as leading on regional training and development initiatives.

Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and implement HR and Employment policies and procedures
  • Provide advice on employment legislation and best practice and ensure the management team comply with these policies
  • Provide guidance and support to the Recruitment team
  • Ensure compliance with TUPE and redundancy regulations
  • Design, develop and deliver effective HR-related training
  • Support the delivery of annual training plans
  • Delivering classroom-style training sessions on a range of topics, such as 'people management'
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers in areas such as absence management, employee relations, performance, equality and diversity
  • Review employment letters to ensure legal and policy compliance and send out to employees
  • Comply with current data protection legislation and provide advice to the management team
  • Contribute to HR projects in partnership with the wider HR team
  • Support the HR Administration team
  • Review and interpret monthly HR data
  • Provide advice and guidance to the management team

Profile

  • Previous experience in a HR Advisor role
  • CIPD qualified - Level 5 - or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in a generalist human resources role is essential
  • Excellent knowledge of a broad range of ER issues
  • Knowledge of employment legislation
  • Hands-on experience of dealing with ER issues
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Good standard of written and verbal communication
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Full driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel as and when required - across the North East of England
