Your new role
An opportunity has arisen for experienced Learning Consultant to join the Learning & Development team on full time and permanent basis. This post is within an established team and the contract is offered on a hybrid working pattern which will be predominantly home working.

As a Learning Consultant, you will need to build and maintain long term collaborative and sustainable relationships with stakeholders within key corporate services such as ICT, finance, strategy, and governance. You will design, facilitate and deliver classroom based or virtual training sessions in conjunction with SMEs across the Council. You will lead on the implementation of key projects that deliver the SBC People Plan and support the Transforming together programme, providing an integrated approach across the service units relating to Learning and Development. You will provide mentoring expertise and advice to HR Consultants and Learning Development Advisors on design and development of learning solutions/interventions in response to business requirements.

You will lead on the Mentoring programme for SCC to include oversight of the network and embedding it across our leadership community and partner organisations. You will be required to undertake any other duties as may be required which are appropriate for grades of post, up to and including the grade of this post (This will include covering for other posts).

What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience of working in a similar post in a busy HR team is essential to be successful in this role. You must have demonstrable experience in talent management and leadership development and proven experience of delivering training on relevant subjects. It is essential that you are a confident communicator who has the ability to articulate at a high level of oral and written English as you will be liaising with a variety of stakeholders across different levels within the council. You also need to have experience of using the Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications.

CIPD / L&D qualifications will be highly advantageous but not essential.
