Role Purpose

This is a new role created to support and drive HR practices within NRW and the HR Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing 3 HR Business Partners and working closely with the People Services that provides transactional delivery of payroll, and recruitment. They will also work closely with the Organisational Development Team in delivering key initiatives from strategies that have been developed.

Critically they will be responsible to driving forward HR Professionalism within the team and across NRW and, where necessary, changes within the function.

This is an influential role in helping to shape and develop strategy especially in respect of pay and reward, and NRW’s Adfywio (Renewal) Programme. This programme is how NRW changes its working practices and culture to reflect the changes NRW have experienced through the Covid19 pandemic.

Therefore the successful candidate will need to demonstrate good strategic thinking and have a proven track record of driving forward key initiatives within the HR function as well as across an organisation whilst at the same time able to deliver on a day to day basis.

The role holder will therefore need to demonstrate implementing HR initiatives, drive, team work and good corporate responsibility. They will have experience of working with multiple stakeholders including senior managers, trade unions and external stakeholders. They will be required to draft papers and attend and present information to senior managers, Executive Team members and Non Executive Directors, senior managers.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Senior and substantial experience and/or a professional qualification (CIPD) as a HR professional
