HR Officer job, Surrey, up to £31,000 FTE for a Local Authority on a 6-month FTC.

This role has been created to support with an extended leave of absence and the contract could be extended.
Your new role
You will be an experienced HR professional; however, this role has a strong focus on recruitment, and you will proactively take the lead on the full recruitment process. You will manage the interview process in full then continue with the on-boarding of new employees after the offer stage. A solid HR admin background will enable you to support the HR team with day-to-day HR queries and the management of these, along with maintaining employee records, take part in policy reviews and support the Payroll manager with the payroll process. There will also be ad-hoc projects when required.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a proven success rate with advertising and attracting good candidates for their internal roles and be tasked with creating new ideas as to how to drive forward the recruitment process whilst liaising with the HR Managers & HR Business Partner around this. You will have a strong HR admin/assistant background with knowledge of UK Employment Law. You will have full end to end employee lifecycle experience including on-boarding, contracts, starter and leaver processes and have previously supported the payroll process. A confident and engaging individual, you will be able to work as part of a fast-paced team, giving focus on your customer service. You will be able to multitask, meet deadlines and identify priorities with a can-do attitude. You will be able to effectively communicate with all stakeholders and show a high level of discretion when dealing with sensitive or difficult situations.

Along with a competitive salary of up to £31,000 pa on a pro-rated basis, you will be fully supported with your career development and be given time during your working week to do this. This is a hybrid role with on-site parking for office days. There is also the possibility that this role could be offered on a part time basis (minimum 25 hours per week) as they are task not time focused. You will be part of a friendly, collaborative, and supportive HR team.
