Client Details

The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service is a non-ministerial department established by the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008. Our statutory function is to provide administrative support to the Scottish Courts, devolved Tribunals and the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG). With over 1900 staff in Courts, Tribunals and business units based in some 50 locations across Scotland, we have an annual expenditure in excess of £150m.

Description

The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service is committed to promoting and progressing equality and diversity within both the SCTS and the wider Scottish Justice System. This post provides a significant opportunity to help deliver these important objectives, working with senior HR, operational and policy colleagues within SCTS, Justice Partners and the Third Sector.

An experienced Human Resources Professional, and Equalities Subject Matter Expert, you will lead on the Equalities agenda for the Human Resources Unit (HRU), reporting to the Senior HR Manager: People Strategy, Policy and Support. This role involves being the key SME for the HR Unit, developing and implementing an Equalities strategy and plans across the organisation.

The post holder will be a key adviser on matters of equality and will be crucial in delivering our legislative obligations in terms of the Equality Act 2010, Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Regulations 2012 and British Sign Language (Scotland) Act 2015. A substantial part of the post will involve fielding enquiries about equality and diversity in the SCTS from staff throughout the organisation, Justice Partners and Third Sector organisations, working proactively with colleagues and stakeholders to champion Equalities, and provide strategic and operational advice, support and guidance.

You will be part of a team of HR Strategic Partners supporting the Senior HR Manager: People Strategy, Policy and Support, to achieve the strategic objectives as set out in the People Strategy 2018-23 and the annual HR Business Plan.
