Merseyside Police

About Merseyside Police

We are a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding place to work, we take pride in everything we do. The best performing urban Force as graded by HMICFRS to date, our strategy is simply to put the communities of Merseyside first.  We have a strong focus on continuous improvement in the areas we’re passionate about: ending Violence Against Women and Girls; tackling Serious Organised Crime and County Lines; strengthening our approach to Diversity and Inclusion; building trust and confidence through Community Engagement.

You’ll be working for a friendly employer who has a passion for investing in our people and creating the conditions so you can thrive and be your best self. You will be based in our busy Training Academy at Mather Avenue with onsite parking and catering facilities. Our rewards package includes 25 days annual leave (plus 8 public holidays), family friendly policies, flexi-time, hybrid working and local government pension scheme and you’ll also get access to additional benefits that are unique to our organisation in the form of access to many discount schemes and networks.

About the role

People Services is at the heart of driving this agenda and ambition forward. We’ve recently introduced a new operating model, and are in the process of building and shaping the new team and function. We’re seeking to recruit an experienced Learning and Development Manager to develop and lead the strategy (attached below) on behalf of the Force, reporting to the Head of Academy. You will be an experienced leader, subject matter expert and bring a wealth of experience of leading a Training Delivery team.

We actively encourage applications from a diverse background and are open to considering flexible working patterns for the successful applicant.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who has the drive, energy and passion to lead our Learning and Development agenda, if you feel that’s you, we’d love to hear from you.
