HR Consultant

My client are looking for a qualified HR Consultant to work with the HR Manager to lead a variety of human resource projects, and support with the provision of a quality HR advisory service. You will help optimise everyday processes as well as implement strategic change programmes and new technologies.

Main accountabilities:

  • Initiating and leading human resource programmes and projects including organisational restructures, process improvements, implementation of technology enhancements and support with employee engagement initiatives.
  • Providing advice and recommendations to managers and staff for resolution of ER issues, whilst ensuring managers take ownership.
  • Taking part in the recruitment process by helping managers attract and hire top talent

Key responsibilities:

  • Initiate and lead human resource programs and projects
  • Support managers with organisational restructures, including the production of new role profiles, consultation documents and processes, redundancies, and redeployment.
  • Conduct research through various methods to identify a suitable electronic document management system to move HR paper files into electronic format, overseeing project from initiation to go live.
  • Assisting in the recruitment of key roles, using the most productive and cost-effective methods, whilst maximising the quality of successful candidates. To ensure that policy on recruitment and selection is followed and campaigns remain compliant with legal and best practice.
  • Assist in the development and integration of policies
  • Select and implement suitable HR technology to support recruitment processes.
  • Work with current software provider to upgrade current platform and implement self-service for employees, re personal details changes, leave bookings etc.
  • Review systems and processes and make modifications to improve efficiencies
  • Refurbish knowledge of advancements in the HR field and present new ideas
  • To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required within the general scope of the post.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a senior hr professional
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, policies, procedures and best practices and the ability to interpret them practically and pragmatically
  • Solid understanding of organisational change (including redundancy and redeployment programmes)
  • Computer savvy with working knowledge of human resource IT technologies (HRevolution/Sd Worx ideally.)
  • Ability to compose comprehensive correspondence in relation to employee relations issues e.g. sickness, disciplinary, grievance, dismissal and flexible working
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and consulting skills
  • A team player
  • Minimum level 5 CIPD or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Experience in project management preferably HR related
