Oakleaf are supporting an award winning Law firm to hire an HR Business Partner into the team. The purpose of the HR Business Partner role is to work with key stakeholders and partners to improve business performance by influencing change and identifying initiatives and activity that are focused on managing and motivating talent.

The HR Business Partner role will support a range of practice groups (fee earning) and work closely with the HR Director, Head of HR and other HRBP's (the senior HR team) on a daily basis.

The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the senior HR team to further develop the HR function and ensure that it is meeting the strategic objectives of the firm.
  • Contribute to business planning and strategic discussions by providing commercial advice and support on all HR operational issues.
  • Challenge, coach and support Partners and Managers in the development of their people management skills.
  • Influence and support change management across the practice.
  • Pre-empt and manage employee relation cases
  • Support the annual lawyer performance and salary moderation process.
  • Coach client groups in the delivery of effective feedback and constructive performance management discussions.
  • Identify training needs and liaise with L&D to identify and deliver targeted and effective training.
  • Help to run a commercially sound salary and bonus review process.
  • Work with the senior HR team and the business on various change-management projects within the firm.

Personal Specification

  • Proven HR professional with previous experience of building effective relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in adapting own style to deal with a diverse mix of stakeholders to differing needs.
  • Proffesional Services experience
  • Experience of managing junior staff is preferable
  • Commercially astute
  • Proactive
  • Strategic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong influencing skills and able to build credibility quickly
  • Integrity and discretion
  • Flexible in thinking and approach
