Macmillan Davies are partnering with a Global FMCG Business as they look to bring on board a Learning and Development Specialist to support the manufacturing population of their plant in Hamburg, Germany.

The Company are a leading provider of ingredients that support the manufacture of foodstuffs for many of the world's best known foodstuffs. They do this in a planet-friendly sustainable manner.

The L&D Specialist will be accountable for developing and delivering technical and compliance training for manufacturing team members. This newly created role includes the development and delivery of high quality, effective learning standards to implement at site to standardise training, operate on a common platform, and ensure consistency across the network.

Reporting to the Global Learning Manager (based overseas) and with a dotted line to the Senior HR Business Partner (in Country) the L&D Specialist will be expected to:

Own all new employee on-boarding activities and ensure execution in alignment with global standards.
Partner closely with local leadership (Plant Manager, HR Manager, etc.) to provide leadership and expertise for any site -functional training needs that may require additional local design and development as well as with peers and key subject matter experts in Safety, Quality, and other functions to identify training requirements and develop content in coordination with the global manufacturing training team.
Support Manufacturing's Continuous Improvement journey by developing curriculum, shop floor standards, and monitoring training effectiveness.
Establish a plan to keep regional content and training current for team members including refresher training as needed.
Create certification criteria and cadence for re-certification of technical jobs.
Develop with site input a global skills matrix for each role supporting job tiers in alignment with prioritised site training plans.
Ensure effective use of LMS, training reporting tools and training effectiveness while communicating training status updates and business impact.

About you

In this newly created role we are looking for somebody able to demonstrate operating in a similar role having provided training ideally within a manufacturing environment.

We are also hoping to attract somebody who can offer:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, HR, OD, Psychology, Engineering, Operations, or similar related discipline.
Experience leading and developing training programs in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with Workday Learning.
Experience coordinating learning and development activities throughout the organisation; perform training administrative tasks in a Learning Management System (LMS).
German and English fluency, both written and spoken.
Proven project management skills and the ability to facilitate organising and managing multiple priorities and/or projects.

Working Pattern & What's on offer

The Business do operate where possible a hybrid working environment. However with this role there will be a need to attend site regularly therefore applicants will be able to get to Hamburg at least part of the week.

Salary range €80k - €85k + Broad Benefits


The Organisation may support relocation for the right candidate.
