Your new company
You will be joining an organisation within the Higher Education sector who are looking for a confident and credible HR officer/Assistant to join the small HR team for circa 14 months. The organisation have parking available and are easily accessed via public transport too, but they are looking for someone who can be office based who can support the employees who are in the office 5 days per week (Porters/Security/Ancillary)

Your new role
Working for a very experienced Head of HR, you will be their #2 who can support with a wide range of HR matters. You will take on queries from managers and employees which may include: employee relations issues, payroll queries, recruitment support or just general advice needed.

You will interpret policy and use your HR & Recruitment knowledge to advise managers and employees with professional and credible advice, giving recommendations and empowering managers to make the right decision, escalating to the Head of HR when required.

The role will also require you to undertake HR Administration tasks such as contractual changes, payroll amendments, starters/leavers, monitoring sickness and absence and processing paternity/maternity.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a HR professional who has a good foundation of experience in a busy, broad, generalist HR role where they have provided advice and guidance to managers independently. Ideally you will be CIPD Level 5 qualified, or level 3+ several years experience in HR. Its important that you are local/commutable to Central Oxford as this role will be office based 5 days a week.
