Your new company

My client is a leading national brand with a number of sites across the UK, but you will support these locations from their Head Office based in Hedge End.

Your new role

You will work alongside another HR Assistant and a Recruitment Administrator to support the HR Manager in the delivery of an efficient and effective HR service, including advisory services for the sites and within the company by providing first line contact on all employment related issues consistent with internal processes and legal requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To provide first line generalist HR advice and support on terms and conditions of employment and HR policies and procedures, with a view to resolving matters on advice
  • Supporting the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, retention and engagement
  • Support the managers with performance management procedures
  • Monitoring absence management data in line with policy and escalate accordingly
  • Support the HR Manager with any HR project
  • Posting job adverts and job descriptions on multiple recruitment platforms
  • To support site recruitment activities (screening application, interviewing, job offer, onboarding)
  • Updating live vacancies and monitor recruitment activities for weekly reporting
  • Implementing health and safety policies and procedures at site, ensuring compliance and keeping updated with key changes to legislation

What you'll need to succeed

This opportunity will suit someone who is keen to progress their HR career, ideally with a minimum of 12 months in a similar HR / People position or working as part of a HR / People function. You must be CIPD qualified (Level 3 minimum).

This is a generalist role, so you must have experience of HR Administration, ER (Employee Relations) support and recruitment / onboarding.

What you'll get in return

You will join a friendly, supportive team with a market led salary between £23,000-£25,000 (DOE). Additional benefits include: free onsite parking, food and drink provided at employees request each week, employee recognition and family events, EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) and a 10% annual bonus (discretionary, but paid out for the past few years).

A company laptop and mobile phone are provided too.
