Talent Outreach Lead

£37,679 - £46,787 plus £1,750 location allowance plus excellent benefits

Permanent

Based Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes MK19 7BH, with the flexibility of hybrid working depending on business need

We’re FCDO Services, a government organisation here to protect people, information, and assets all over the world. And we do that by providing a wide variety of vital services to high-level government customers, both in the UK and overseas. At any given moment, we’ll be involved in a broad range of critical projects worldwide: everything from embassy construction, to diplomatic goods deliveries, to providing parliaments with secure WiFi.

That work means we need to attract and retain people with all kinds of skills, backgrounds, experiences and cultures. At the same time, we work in some sectors – cybersecurity, IT, construction – where we need to work hard to help shift the balance of diversity industry-wide.

You’ll help us in all that as our Outreach Lead. As part of the Diversity and Inclusion team, you will develop and deliver the strategy, action plan and initiatives that promotes us as an inclusive employer of choice, and improves our pipeline of diverse talent. Your focus will be education establishments, the local community, and diverse national professional networks.

Turn plans into action and play an active role in change

You’ll share in our big ambitions for diversity and inclusion, and you’re practical about how to achieve those goals too. As well as continually reviewing our outreach strategy, you’ll have the drive to develop and lead the projects that’ll make it all happen. And wherever you see a need for improvement, you’ll make astute recommendations, put your advice into practice, and help us make real change. From researching proposals, and developing collateral and communications, to representing the organisation at STEM conferences, and delivering work experience schemes, the role provides varied opportunities.

Build relationships that build our pipeline

You’re a natural when it comes to identifying, building and maintaining the relationships we need. A confident ambassador for our organisation, you’ll work with local communities, establish education and charity partnerships, and ultimately build strong links that help us reach under-represented groups. What’s more, you’ll have a sharp eye for how we could help our new partners, offering initiatives to help remove any barriers to careers with us.

Engage our business – and enhance your career

You won’t just build relationships in the community: you’ll also engage internal stakeholders too, helping colleagues across the business create a more inclusive workforce. You’ll even represent us within cross-government working groups on outreach. It’s incredible exposure for your career and a chance to make tangible impact, within an organisation that protects people, assets and information worldwide. You’ll also benefit from a competitive salary, holiday entitlement and Civil Service pension. There will also be the opportunity to incorporate some elements of hybrid working into your role. In short, it’s your job, bigger.

All our colleagues must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Security Check (SC) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website: https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/

If you’d like to know more about our outreach work and our commitment to diversity and being an inclusive employer, then why not have a look at our Diversity and Inclusion page on our careers website, https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/diversity-and-inclusion/

It takes a diverse team to protect a diverse world.

The vital work we do takes an incredible community of colleagues, with different skills, backgrounds, cultures and identities. We support every individual, so that you always know you’re welcome and valued. It’s what makes us a Disability Confident employer. And Employers for Carers. And it’s how you know you’re joining an inspiring, inclusive organisation.
