Learning and Development Manager
Wroughton, Wiltshire

Are you an experienced Learning and Development Manager with a commercial outlook? Would you like to work for an organisation that is rated ‘outstanding’ for its patient care and really cares about your work life balance and wellbeing? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Join us and help drive a culture of continuous learning, ensuring all our staff have the skills and capabilities needed to work and learn confidently, now and into the future.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00)

This role will be primarily office based at the hospice in Wroughton, with flexibility for occasional working from home.

What is the role?

This is a new post, reporting to the Head of Volunteering, Learning and Inclusion, and working in support of the wider people development strategy. You will contribute to the creation of an agile learning culture across Prospect Hospice, placing learning at the heart of employee and talent development.

Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders you will develop a wide range of learning activity that meets the needs of all staff throughout the organisation and is closely aligned to current and emerging business needs. You will take responsibility for the full learning and development cycle, including training needs analysis; the development and – in some cases – delivery of appropriate learning and development programs; and evaluation of impact.

We are seeking someone who is commercially astute, as this role will also involve working with clinicians on the development of a programme of specialist training to be marketed externally. Join us to help shape this exciting new role and define the work that will help us achieve our ambitions.

In return, your own development will be supported, and you will be part of an excellent team within an organisation recognised as ‘outstanding’ by our regulator.

We offer a great range of employee schemes and benefits, including generous annual leave, free parking on-site, on-site café, employee assistance programme, wellbeing team, access to NHS pension scheme if eligible, Blue Light Discount Card and so much more!

If this sounds like a role that you would be suited to, then we would love to hear from you.

For an informal chat or more information about the position, contact Su Starkey, Head of Volunteering, Learning and Inclusion.

We are unable to accept CVs so we kindly request that all applicants apply via the apply button shown.

Interviews will be held on Monday, 11th July 2022.

About you:

Educated to degree level, with an additional L&D qualification preferred, you will have a track record of delivering excellence. You will have extensive experience of supporting business change through learning and development, with a large toolkit of proven learning solutions to bring to the role. You will have excellent communication and influencing skills, and experience of working across an organization with a wide range of stakeholders. Your project management and analytical skills will be second to none, and you will be strongly committed to equity and inclusion. Experience of working in a charitable and/or healthcare setting, although not essential, would be helpful.
