Learning and Development Advisor

Main Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Developing effective collaborative relationships with a portfolio of employer clients, holding meetings both in person and remotely, to review learner performance and experience
- Liaising with Pathway Specialists on learner progress, identifying learner strengths and areas for development
- Holding generic inductions for courses in the organization
- Providing proactive and reactive study and skills support to learners
- Encouraging learner engagement with their programmes and conducting progress reviews
- Providing pastoral care and safeguarding support
- Supporting professional skills development, including functional skills
- Monitoring the progress of learners in line with programme/personal development plan milestones, identifying issues or concerns through the organization's reporting processes
- Identifying those learners who require additional support and implementing suitable interventions
- Assisting with learner preparation for assessments, including interviews and the collation of portfolios, where appropriate
- Liaising with the Business Development Team to identify potential progression/recruitment opportunities where necessary
Essential
- Relevant coaching experience, preferably in apprenticeships, but including through other training and development roles
- Relevant professional qualification
- English and maths at min of GCSE (grades A-C/4)
- Experience of training or mentoring others in the workplace
- Passionate about helping learners succeed, with a strong service culture attitude
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Effective communicator with the ability to listen well and respond to the needs of stakeholders
- Ability to hold professional and developmental review meetings and set SMART objectives
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple demands on your time, prioritising appropriately
- A reflective practitioner who is able to use feedback to make positive changes
- Credible with learners and employers
- Confident, resilient and effective decision maker with the ability to work autonomously
- Able to empathise with learners of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds
- Emotionally intelligent with the ability to help learners build their resilience and overcome barriers to learning
- Committed to promoting the welfare of learners
- Willingness to work up to two evenings per week and occasional weekends
- Willingness to travel within and outside of own region
