Learning & Organisational Development Lead

I am working with a well refarded charity and they are looking for a positive, proactive, and influential Learning and Organisational Development specialist to develop and implement learning and development strategies, programmes, designing e-learning courses, career plans, workshops and more. This will further enhance our culture of continuous improvement. You'll build and manage relationships with key stakeholders to build organisation and people capability, bringing an approach that ensures effective collaboration and teamwork, and promotes the work of the whole charity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively foster relationships with key stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate organisational insight to ensure evidence-based decision-making using data, insights and knowledge of people and operating contexts. Therefore, driving actions across services for the benefit of people development.
  • Responsible for ensuring services are compliant with mandatory and statutory obligations in relation to education and training.
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of digital systems to support the organisational development of the charity
  • Design and deliver educational and learning resources to ensure access to a wide range of education, learning and development interventions aligned to our values.
  • Design and develop a Leadership and Management development framework ensuring it offers best practice and innovative leadership and management development opportunities to ensure staff are able to enhance their personal development and capabilities to
  • Support their success and progression in their careers.
  • Develop, support, and implement underpinning processes for supporting staff to take on greater ownership and responsibility.
  • Supporting and implementing the process of succession planning
  • Identifying future leaders and successors where appropriate and enable a development programme to support.
  • Foster a model of reflective best practice which can be used for individual and collective learning and improvement to gain greater organisational intelligence and identify key service and organisational improvement opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal communication and engagement, EDB Manager, People Business Partner to enhance best practice.
  • Embed and monitor key vision, values and behaviours to shape organisational culture.

The person

  • Current, up-to-date knowledge of workforce developments in learning and organisational development
  • Strong professional network and up to date with the latest thinking and future of work
  • A solutions-driven and practical ability to create inspiring and engaging content and flex style and tone for different audiences and to ensure an authentic four-nations approach
  • Experience of learning and development and OD interventions
  • Project management of implementation of HR Management Systems
  • Design and delivering skills development programmes
  • Interpreting complex employment legislation and developing robust resolutions
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including presentation and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to collaborate effectively to provide matrix leadership and thought leadership
  • Ability to work with complex data to provide workforce analysis/overview across services
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
  • An inquisitive approach to trialling, testing and innovating, in order to do more, better.
  • Comfortable using metrics to measure success of initiatives, and apply them to future plans to ensure continuous improvement and development
  • Highly proficient in using digital technologies to create and deliver engaging content
  • Highly developed and confident interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence colleagues at all levels and provide advice and guidance to senior leaders
  • The ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders from start to finish
  • High levels of self-motivation, enthusiasm and passion for culture change
  • The ability to use digital tools to work collaboratively and productively in a hybrid working model, championing and promoting new ways of working
  • The ability to translate strategic initiatives into operational plans
  • An enthusiasm to live and model the charities values across all areas of work
  • A demonstrable passion for including Equity, Diversity & Belonging principles across all areas of work
  • A demonstrable passion for embedding environmental sustainability principles across all areas of work
