Your new company
Hays is pleased to be partnering with one of Northern Ireland's leading manufacturing companies to appoint an experienced HR Adviser to join their HR & Payroll team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
As an HR Adviser, you will report to the Senior HR Officer, and provide a full HR service to 200 people across 4 sites, you will work as a true Business Partner to create a Great Place to Work, providing a best-in-class people experience, where our people and teams thrive, and take pride in their work.

Your new role
As HR Advisor you will have a diverse role, being responsible for the delivery of day-to-day HR support in coordination with the Human Resources team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work in partnership with the HR team across a full range of HR activities, including employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, performance management and employee engagement and wellbeing
  • Assist in the full Recruitment process i.e. drafting job descriptions, advertising, interviewing, offers and onboarding
  • Assist in the management of the Wellbeing and Rewards portal, encouraging people to utilise through internal communications to promote the content and benefits
  • Provide practical and credible advice, guidance and challenge to positively influence people management activity across the entire people lifecycle
  • Assist in all activity relating to learning and development including administration, reporting of key metrics, delivery of internal training and planning and co-ordinating external training
  • Work closely with the HR Officer to support the training element of the on-boarding process, ensuring new employees receive the required training through their structured on-boarding and training plans
  • Keep updated with changes in employment law and practice, ensuring the company meets legislative requirements across all jurisdictions
  • Assist in HR related ad-hoc projects
  • Ensure both manual and electronic HR systems are updated and accurate
  • Act as an ambassador for our company values, behaviours and adhere to all company procedures.



What you'll need to succeed

  • Third level qualification in a relevant discipline (preferably in Human Resources)
  • 2 years' HR Generalist experience
  • Working knowledge of Employment Law for NI & UK
  • Confidential and trustworthy
  • Customer focus & results driven
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to plan, organise and work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Using own initiative and judgement to make decisions
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office suite
  • Able to work flexible hours as required and to travel as required to ensure business needs are met
