Learning & Development Manager

Responsible to HR Director                                                                                                 

Department:HR                                                                                                                                                                     

Location: Wilmslow

Purpose of role: To align the employee’s goals and performance with that of Flowtech Fluidpower to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing the Power Academy Learning and Development strategy and programme that is aligned to the organisation’s strategic goals
  • Working closely with various leaders across Flowtech Fluidpower and having a full understanding of their units and training requirements 
  • Responsible for identifying and assessing the learning and development needs of individuals and the organisation through the application of Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
  • Aligning the learning and development requirements to the job role/ description of the individuals and teams expanding the talent and skills across all levels of the organisation
  • Creating learning and development materials and programmes to address specific business objectives
  • Working with the senior leadership team, the HR Team, employees, and external partners to ensure achievement of the learning and development objectives
  • Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness and success of the learning and development programme
  • Staying current with the latest learning and development trends, development, and best practice
  • Identifying and implementing a wide range or learning and development offerings and techniques to improve efficiency and provide a return on investment
  • Management and development of the Competency Framework based on an individual’s role ensuring that talent is developed and grows with the organisation
  • Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of the learning opportunities
  • Having an awareness of the allocated budget and an ability to track the budget and find solutions to implement the required training
  • Produce and deliver reports demonstrating the performance of the Learning & Development function
  • Maintain and develop relationships with 3rd party vendors and consultants
  • Acting as the go to within the business for anyone with questions or queries regarding training and development plans
  • Increase the visibility of the Learning & Development function

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Learning & Development Manager, Training Manager or similar
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end learning and development process though the application of a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)
  • Level 5 Learning & Development qualification such as CIDP, CTP, QTS or demonstrable experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to effectively present information to employees, management, board of directors and external partners

Desirable

  • Fluid power Experience
  • Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Levy
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience in project management
