Job Details

This position will implement the HR strategy and support overall business goals and objectives. You will also provide generalist (stand alone) HR advice and expertise in the development of progressive HR policies and processes.

Client Details

Manufacturing business based in the Falkirk area


  • Develop, enhance and promote a positive people culture throughout the business which delivers the company objectives
  • Work closely with other SLT members to ensure delivery of business targets and objectives
  • Promote positive working relationships within the business
  • Resolve ER issues i.e. grievances, disciplinary procedure
  • Ensure adherence to associated ACAS Codes of Practice and guidance.
  • Work with staff representatives to together to facilitate better cooperation and communication between the workforce and management
  • Provide professional advice on all HR issues relating to current and future legislation.
  • Advise on all HRE risk matters including legislation, codes of practice, guidance, operating policy and procedures and best practice.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle and main point of contact
  • Issue all contracts and oversee induction process
  • Ensure all new start paperwork is given to payroll, pension
  • Design and implement performance appraisals.
  • Coach all line managers and employees on their role within the process
  • Oversee the appraisal process including any written documentation and salary amendments
  • Continuously review HR processes for improvement opportunities
  • Following up on these issues and implement these changes
  • Ensure that all administration areas are covered throughout the business
  • Co-ordinate cover during periods of absence including holidays and sickness with identified administration staff across the organisation


  • Ability to understand the business needs and drivers and align with strategic initiatives
  • Knowledge of best practices in human resource management
  • Anticipate the impact of change
  • Commitment to self-improvement and development through the role in order to achieve career goals
  • Ability to be firm and diplomatic
  • Experience in constructively challenging and influencing managers and the workforce.
  • Able to develop good working relationships with colleagues, customers and external stakeholders.

  • Able to work autonomously, and in a team, and to use own initiative.
  • Motivated individual with a positive attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Degree or post graduate qualification in HR related subject
  • CIPD Qualified
  • Working knowledge of a manufacturing environment (ideally union knowledge)
