Strategic HR Business Partner

You will be joining a 24/7 operational business unit as Strategic HR BP, reporting into a newly appointed Business Unit Director.  As strategic HR BP you will be supported by an HR Manager who will take ownership of the tactical day to day HR needs.  You will take responsibility for downloading the business wide people strategy into a divisionally relevant roadmap and delivering this to ensure core performance outcomes are achieved – cost, customer, environment, and people.

You will focus on:

  • Driving performance through people – focusing on building a compelling work environment with emphasis on engagement
  • Building effective and trusted relationships with the SLT, and other key stakeholders, including operational HR BPs to ensure full alignment, consistency and sharing of best practice.
  • Identifying and actioning the priorities – in this fast-paced organisation everything is urgent, you must dial out the noise to focus on the must haves and deliver in full, quickly.
  • Continuous improvement - Identify the improvements required to HR processes, products and services, championing the line customer, challenging the functional specialist teams to provide better/different products, services and support, and working with them to ensure delivery

The role is complex, challenging and fast paced.  You will already be operating as BP to the strategic leadership team and be divorced from delivering the tactical day to day.  The role will call for you to be innovative, collaborative, inquisitive and decisive – you will be subject matter expert on all things people strategy and be comfortable in owning that.
