An opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner providing high level HR support to
the groups within the Business Advisory & Transaction Services

Description

General
* Quickly build trusted relationships with DMP's, Partners and HoGs.
* Position HR as a strategic business partner & trusted advisor to the relevant client groups
* Take the lead and act as the subject expert in all HR matters
* Coach, mentor and supervise HR Advisor(s) in all aspects of HR processes and to ensure paperwork is completed
correctly and accurately
* Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition, Reward and L&D teams as appropriate
* Manage key strategic projects and support strategic initiatives across the team as required
* Consider new initiatives which could improve efficiencies within the team and wider firm and feed into the HR Team
Employee Relations
* Take the lead on complex employee relations activities
* Provide guidance to HR Advisors where appropriate on operational ER issues such as absence management,
grievance and disciplinary issues, performance management, maternity/paternity/shared parental leave
Resourcing
* Lead on all aspects of resource planning with DMP and HoGs including resourcing and recruitment methods and
process, defining resource requirements and timelines, succession planning and promotions
* Brief the Talent Acquisition team/Advisors in relation to all recruitment needs.
* Conduct interviews with senior level recruits where appropriate
* Manage interview feedback and negotiate offers consistent with the firm's pay strategy for senior recruits in
conjunction with the Talent Acquisition and Reward Teams.
HR Procedures
* Ensure Organisational Capability Review is undertaken & regularly updated as part of the Business Partnering
approach to drive proactive performance management, talent management and headcount planning for the future
* Input into the annual budgeting process for the relevant business areas.
* Complete the annual salary review process for the relevant practice groups, working with the Reward Manager as
necessary. Challenge and ensure robust justifications for bonus awards are given by DMP/HoGs.
* Provide input into Reward strategy
* Drive the annual appraisal process for the relevant business areas
* Complete the annual promotions process for any potential candidates within the relevant client groups
* Work with Reward Manager to ensure data on the relevant business areas is correct on an ongoing basis
* Conduct annual appraisals for HR Advisor(s)
* Maintain a working knowledge of the HR Information System ("People Hub")

Profile

  • Experience of operating at HR Business Partner level is required, within legal or professional services

* Significant generalist experience in delivering high quality, commercial HR advice within a matrix management
structure
* Excellent working knowledge of employment law and proven experience of resolution of complex employee relations
matters
* Excellent communication skills and the acumen to effectively influence a number of stakeholders within different
client groups & locations
* Professional manner with the ability to work collaboratively across the firm and the HR team
* Ability to balance competing priorities and manage to tight deadlines
* Credible, articulate and comfortable with systems, data and analysis
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Experience of supervising and mentoring others
* CIPD qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience
