Working as part of a busy HR team, the HR Business Partner will deliver a professional, high quality HR service within the organisation, leading on a full range of HR matters, ensuring legislation, policy and best practice are followed.

Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Coach and advise managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance, disciplinary, grievance and employee engagement
  • Advise and assist in the development of action plans to manage employee relations, employee development and employee wellbeing issues
  • Lead on the delivery and implementation of all HR policies, issues and legislation
  • Provide confidential and independent advice and support to managers, employees, apprentices and volunteers
  • Identify solutions to HR issues and present options and ways forward
  • Support and advise managers on change management programmes, including restructuring, TUPE, and redundancy
  • Act as the first point of contact for any queries coming into the HR Department
  • Ensure managers fully understand HR policies and procedures in relation to disciplinary, capability, grievance, probationary review, and performance
  • Ensure the integrity of all HR and Health, Safety & Wellbeing processes, systems and documentation in accordance with legislation, best practice and organisational requirements
  • Support the HR Manager in the development and review of HR policies, documentation, guidance, toolkits, and handbooks
  • Assist in the design and implementation of efficient HR administration processes
  • Undertake project work as required to ensure continuous improvement in current HR working practices
  • Provide advice and support to managers on recruitment and selection processes
  • Support managers on the development of job descriptions and person specifications
  • Produce job adverts and advertise vacancies, where necessary
  • Manage all stages of the recruitment and selection process for new and job role changes
  • Provide advice to managers on different types of contracts of employment
  • Coach managers on performance management processes
  • Ensure safeguarding is monitored and HR policies are adhered to
  • Ensure new employees are effectively inducted and integrated into the organisation
  • Liaise with managers to identify learning and development requirements and propose appropriate solutions
  • Support the design and delivery of HR-related training activities
  • Keep up to date with changes in employment legislation and best practice
  • Collate and report monthly HR management information
  • Provide accurate HR reporting information to support decision making

Profile

  • Chartered membership of the CIPD
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of employment legislation, equality and diversity issues and HR best practice
  • Knowledge of HR policies and practices
  • Experience of providing advice and support on a range of key HR activities including conduct, grievance, capability, absence, organisational change, and employee relations matters
  • Experience of advising managers on sickness and absence matters
  • Experience of supporting the development of HR strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Experience of delivering HR-related projects
  • Experience of advising managers on recruitment
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions
  • Experience of dealing with TUPE transfers
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations and communicate complex and sensitive information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Salary of £32,798 - £36,371 per annum
