I have partnered with a leading global Investment Bank in their search for a Workforce Change (Employee Relations) Lead to join their London team. This role is a critical hire for the firm, with the transformation & restructuring projects being pushed through by the firm, with this individual having a large ownership on this.

Responsibilities:

  • The role holder will be accountable for the delivery of the BAU Workforce Change and Restructuring book of work across either BUK or COO, both in terms of direct delivery of their own projects, but also the management and oversight of the projects assigned to portfolio squad team members within their line management.
  • The role holder will work in collaboration with the second Workforce Change & Restructuring Change Manager Lead and the WFC Portfolio Director BUK and COO in order to drive the demand planning process, validate new demand into the portfolio and review capacity / allocations across the portfolio squad.
  • The role holder will be accountable for understanding the glide path across all projects, potential announcement dates, and developing a plan in collaboration with corporate communications, media relations and government relations to duly assess reputation risk
  • The role holder will be accountable for driving the data, reporting and governance across the portfolio squad and drive the required standard across squad members, including weekly status reports for all in flight projects, escalation of risks to the WFC Portfolio Director BUK and COO on a real time basis and ensuring key project stakeholders are kept up to date on critical path and milestones.
  • The role holder will be accountable for the oversight of all global projects, working in partnership with the Employee Relations, HR Business Partners and Delivery and Advisory Teams in the regions in order to align global delivery, as well as knowledge of regionally initiated projects.
  • The role holder will be the go to person from a technical SME perspective across all types of change globally and be able to provide the guidance, support and advice to the portfolio squad.
  • The role holder will be accountable for the upskilling of the portfolio squad, supporting the delivery of coaching, induction and 'lunch and learn' sessions.
  • The role holder will also be required to deputise for the second Workforce Change & Restructuring Change Manager Lead and the WFC Portfolio Director BUK and COO.
  • The role holder will also be required to provide support across strategic initiatives as and when required.
  • The role holder will be required to drive and support allocated change programmes.
  • Support and drive the HR workstream for change programmes such as restructuring, LEE transfers, outsourcing, in sourcing, acquisitions, sales and mergers, new site set up, pan entity and across our global locations leveraging in country HRBP, ER and other specialist HR functions as required.

Skills:

  • Technical SME across all types of workforce change programmes
  • Experience of leading large teams including direct line management as well as matrix management
  • Experience of leading large scale/multiple change programmes
  • Experience of delivering change programmes outside the UK
  • Experience of leading Union/works council consultations and development of consultation strategies
  • A good understanding of current employment legislation and the industrial relations environment
  • Project management, change management and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience of working in a highly matrixed organisation
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders within HR and the business
  • Effective communicator, through both verbal and written communication.
  • Using effective communication skills to ensure customers understand our message and the actions / recommendations that should be followed to resolve an issue.
  • Logical decision-making, solutions orientated, effective listening, clarity of thought and utmost professionalism
  • Solid appreciation of the importance of recognising cultural and geographic sensitivities
  • Excellent analytical and data skills, including intermediate use of Excel
  • Development, coaching and upskilling large teams
  • Self-starter with the commitment to driving through change within the HR function
  • Experience of working in a fast pace, complex environment, corporate blue chip global organisation
