We have a current opportunity for a HR Business Partner on a permanent basis working for a leading global Asset Management firm.

The position will be based in London and offers remote working twice weekly.

Role responsibilities

  • Talent management, performance and development - leverage talent management concepts and processes to differentiate, manage and retain talent; develop and deploy the range of training and development initiatives, utilising existing initiatives and technology enablers; support the continued evolution of the new performance and development framework.
  • Lead responsibility for early careers resourcing and development:
  • Talent acquisition - industrial placements, summer insight students, interns and graduates, including for the Research Analyst and Sales and Marketing summer insight and intern programmes.
  • Talent programme management - working with the business to deliver the summer insight and intern programmes
  • HR Operations and HR Data Analytics - support and contribute to higher levels of operational excellence with enhanced processes and efficiency, HR system tools and analytics.
  • Lead responsibility for:
  • Supporting on the HR budget and forecast process for this team
  • HR workforce scorecard, headcount data analysis and forecasts
  • Talent acquisition - able to lead on specific recruitment cases including creation of the role description, engagement and liaison with the recruitment firm, interviewing candidates, working with the manager on the selection decision, liaising with the successful candidate from offer to onboarding
  • Employee engagement - continue to enhance employee engagement through the engagement pulse surveys and action plans.
  • Employee relations - support / lead case management, for example grievances, capability and disciplinary cases.
  • Compensation - supporting the annual compensation and promotion processes.

The successful candidate will require

  • This role requires a HR Business Partner or HR Advisor who has a strong understanding and been involved with the full cycle of generalist issues including recruitment, performance management, compensation, talent, learning and development, Diversity Equity & Inclusion and supporting year end compensation and promotion processes in a similar environment.
  • They need to be capable of operating in a commercial and fluid environment where they have the ability to take on more responsibility over time, whilst still being hands on.
  • The successful individual will therefore possess the following attributes:
  • Strong relationship building and HR business partnering and advisory skills; able to build rapport with a bright and demanding client group.
  • Low ego and non-hierarchical team player - ability to be hands on as well as strategically minded.
  • Self-starter, proactive, self-motivated with a solution-oriented approach and a drive to achieve results.
  • Credible, respected, with a strong client service ethic.
  • Project and change management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Commercial with a good level of knowledge around the latest HR thinking - e.g., workplace of the future; agile working; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
  • Enthusiastic about keeping up to date with changes in the regulatory and geo-political environment that might impact on the business, e.g., ongoing impact of Brexit; employment law and regulatory changes, etc.
  • Other key skills include numerate, strong written and verbal communication skills, accurate with a high attention to detail, resilient and able to handle a high workload.
  • Technology: strong MS Office skills and experience and used to working with HR technology
  • Knowledge: undergraduate degree with a recognized HR qualification (CIPD preferred), sound understanding of best practice HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience: circa three to five years' overall experience with at least one to two years in a junior business partner or HR Advisor role. Financial services experience and working in a global environment an advantage
