Director of People
Hours: Full time
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Competitive salary that reflects the seniority of the role
Following the retirement of our Head of HR after twelve years of outstanding service, Benenden School is delighted to be recruiting for a Director of People to ideally start at the beginning of December.
This is a very exciting role for an exceptional Human Resources practitioner who relishes working with people in a professional and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape what has been a traditional Head of HR role into this new specification as Director of People.
In recognition of the responsibility that this position carries the successful candidate will sit on the Senior Management Team and work alongside the team to advise on this essential function and contribute to the wider strategic development of the School.
At Benenden we know that everyone brings a unique perspective that adds to our community. We want to attract, retain and develop diverse talent, so that we are a great school, this means recruiting from the widest possible pool of talent.
If you would like to join us at this exciting time we would love to hear from you.
This is a full-time all-year round position.
A start date of 1st December is desirable but not essential.
Benenden is one of the leading boarding schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 550 girls in the school, aged 11-18. Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace. We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and our new Centenary Hall and Music School opened in June 2022.
Meals are provided to staff whilst on duty. The School’s leisure facilities, including a fitness gym and swimming pool are available for staff to use.
