A generalist HRBP role working for an NHS organisation based in Wakefield. This is a full HRBP role, supporting and providing HR input to the leadership team of your designated area.

Description

The interim HRBP will be responsible for working with a designated business area and providing support and HR input to the leadership team. Responsibilities will include:

  • Work proactively to ensure robust stakeholder management across the HR and Operational areas
  • Work with senior management teams to develop and deliver workforce strategies and initiatives that will contribute to their business plans
  • Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information to a range of audiences
  • Support the development of HR strategies for all areas drafting recommendation and option papers for the relevant Senior Management Teams
  • Support managers by interpreting and advising on policies and procedures and advising on the best course of action. This will include a range of employment and employee relation matters such as absence, performance management, grievance, disciplinary, reorganisations and TUPE. The postholder will be responsible for assisting management providing hearing panel support as required
  • Plan, review and implement changes to policies and procedures and support implementation.
  • Deputise for the line manager, where appropriate
  • Work closely with the Recruitment team providing advice and guidance to customers on recruitment and retention to promote a climate of good practice
  • Produce monthly workforce analysis reports to accurately reflect the workforce and HR metrics and recommended initiatives for improvement and present this information to senior managers
  • Produce and manage information to aid business planning and strategy
  • Provide support to local procurement processes by providing HR advice and participate in tender evaluation processes as required
  • Keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and HR best practice and ensure policies and processes are subsequently reviewed
  • Work closely with the Learning & Development team to assess training and development needs and deliver training solutions as required
  • Work with a highly proactive approach, using initiative to ensure a quality HR service is delivered to achieve business focused outcomes
  • Lead in the delivery of key HR initiatives and change programmes to ensure that these are delivered in accordance with agreed requirements
  • Responsible for devising strategic level plans in support of service reconfigurations which impact across service areas or the wider organisation, and ensuring as appropriate that such initiatives are embedded and the benefits realised and clearly measured
  • Using workforce data and analytics to support delivery and measure the effectiveness of HR and OD interventions and policies and understand how to make further improvements, eg., exit interviews, employee relations policies, appraisal processes
  • Reduce the number and impact of employee relations cases in services
  • Use staff survey and other data and metrics to develop innovative ways of tracking, monitoring and developing interventions to improve staff engagement at every level within the Trust
  • Responsible for ensuring audit recommendations are adhered to and used as a tool for improvement in HR practice in localities
  • Provide and advice and guidance on external changes and tenders which may result in workforce changes; Change management and consultation

Profile

The interim HRBP will need to have strong HR generalist experience, ideally operating at HRBP level in previous roles. You will need to be/have:

  • Significant experience of working at a senior level in generalist HR roles
  • CIPD Masters/Level 7 qualified/accredited or equivalent level of experience
  • Experience of operating a HRBP approach within a complex organisation
  • Experience of working in partnership with Trade Unions towards shared goals with evidence of achieving organisational outcomes
  • Evidence of leading the workforce elements of key organisational change programmes and devising HR solutions which ensure consistency
  • Experience in promoting the equality and diversity agenda - able to evidence achievements in relation to organisational equality and diversity objectives
  • Experience of analysis of complex information facts and situations to determine the appropriate course of action
  • A thorough knowledge of employment law and employee relations processes

Job Offer

This interim HRBP role is offered for a long term contract, with the potential for a permanent role if desired:

  • Rate of £24-28/hour PAYE (Band 8a equivalent)
  • 6-9 month contract
