The Learning & Development Manager is responsible for supporting the leadership team, alongside the HRBP and Head of HR, to ensure the people strategy is delivered.

Description

The Learning & Development Manager will work closely with the HRBP and Head of HR to deliver the people strategy for the business. You will be responsible for and to:

  • Partner with the HRBP and business stakeholders to identify and create capability plans for each business unit
  • Develop an ongoing sustainable approach to ensuring capability plans are regularly refreshed to support business requirements
  • Establish a network of external vendors to support the design and delivery of learning programs
  • Identify, source, and drive the assessment of talent development initiatives to ensure commercially appropriate, and maximise return on investment and business impact
  • Proactively partner with the HRBP and business stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on contemporary approaches to learning design
  • Role model inclusive leadership and drive the ways of working that underpin the HR operating model
  • Oversee the annual talent management and succession planning policy and process and source development initiatives to address individual talent needs
  • Partner with the Head of HR, HRBP and business stakeholders to: Identify, design, deliver and evaluate learning initiatives that support the capability plans; Develop and execute the technical training plan(s) for agreed areas
  • Partner with the HRBP and business stakeholders to identify demand and schedule and engage external delivery resources for specific programs
  • Manage the applications and selection of participants for the delivery of the leadership programme
  • Curate external learning content and promote to build greater awareness and uptake in self-paced learning options
  • Engage, brief and project manage vendors for the design of new learning programs and resources, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and deliver on agreed metrics
  • Work in collaboration with the Risk & Compliance team to manage requirements around CPD
  • Work with the HR Systems team to schedule, enrol participants, update attendance records, and establish reporting requirements
  • Ensure learning programs and materials are kept up to date and remain business relevant
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements

Profile

To be successful in this role of Learning & Development Manager you will have extensive experience of the full L&D lifecycle within a professional, regulated environment.

  • A CIPD or other relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience within a similar role in a Financial or Professional Services organisation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels
  • Experience consulting and designing learning initiatives across both technical and soft skill subject matter
  • Ability to produce project briefs, high level designs and storyboards that reflect contemporary learning design and application of adult learning principles
  • Confident facilitator with a proven ability to consult on capability needs in workshops and ideation sessions with leadership teams
  • Strategic stakeholder partnership with demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment
  • A curious and continuous learning mindset, with a strong desire to continually develop L&D capability and implement innovative and contemporary practices
