Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner

I am partnering with an exciting, high-profile charity that are currently looking to recruit a HR Business Partner who can provide a consistent, effective and professional HR service. This individual will be responsible for strategically managing the people activities and will undertake people business partnering to staff, being responsible for all aspects of the employee life cycle. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the relevant departments to ensure their business needs are aligned to the HR and OD strategy and People and Culture Plan.

Main duties and key responsibilities

  • Working with the Director to support strategic HR initiatives for the teams including structure design, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and changing ways of working.
  • Provide HR advice and partner with UK based staff and managers.
  • Support on and where appropriate lead on implementing projects. For example, the roll out of the new UK Pay and Reward structure, wellbeing initiatives, blended working.
  • Coach managers in performance and team management and facilitate team building and conflict management when needed.
  • Manage complex ER cases including those at senior management level, in the areas of disciplinaries, grievances, probation, absence management, Terms and Conditions and casework in line with procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Cover for the Senior HR Business Partner with International teams.
  • Develop the Senior HR Administrator to be able to advise on salaries, promotions, job changes, family leave, flexible working requests and recruitment practice.
  • Responsible for the management of any restructures, reorganisations, redundancies: writing business cases with the manager and calculating costs; advising Directors and managers on options and process; putting together timelines and all associated documents; and conducting meetings with unions, and individuals.
  • Working with the Organisational Development & Training colleagues to identify development and training needs for Science and the C&P team.
  • Design and deliver necessary training to UK teams in support of the OD team.
  • Responsible for delivery of high recruitment standards across the UK for IoZ, Science and C&P including meeting with recruiting managers to understand current and future resourcing needs to provide pro-active approaches to recruitment and selection, advising on best practice including best methods to attract talent.
  • Writing policies where and ensuring that they are communicated and implemented in an effective manner.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate member of CIPD
  • Experience of managing, supporting and developing staff
  • Experience of leading on and managing complex employee relations casework
  • Experience of development and implementing policies, procedures and best practice guidelines
  • Excellent project management, research, analysis and planning experience
  • Experience of using HR databases and other IT systems

Knowledge

  • Up to date knowledge of employment law and a commitment to CPD
  • Understanding of equality and opportunity and its application in an HR setting
