The Head of HR will add value to ensure the company makes best use of its people, informing and shaping HR strategy and delivery of HR operational plans to meet organisational needs.

Description

The successful Head of HR will lead the HR function, collaborate with other departments, and forge external networks in support of the organisational aims. You will:

  • Be the pillar head for the development of HR Capability and best practice.
  • Implement and monitor relevant aspects of HR strategy and policy.
  • Lead the HR function on all aspects of employee relations, providing professional employment law advice in line with current legislation.
  • Coach senior managers to ensure appropriate practices, culture, inclusion and leadership standards.
  • Manage budgetary control for all aspects of HR.
  • Work with the Learning & Development Manager, identifying and delivering solutions to meet needs.
  • Drive the organisation's well-being strategy.
  • Provide leadership to the HR team in delivering and enhancing an effective HR service.
  • Successfully drive the development of people initiatives

Profile

The successful Head of HR will have:

  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to influence and challenge senior managers
  • Resilience and flexibility to work in a dynamic and demanding environment
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent people management skills and the ability to delegate
  • Confidence and gravitas to deliver against the strategic HR agenda
  • An interest in science and research
  • An understanding of working within a funded and/or regulated environment
