It's an exciting time at the University of Kent as we look to launch our new People & Culture strategy 2025. Setting out our six areas of focus for the next three years, and the people and culture activities which will help us realise our Institutional Plan as a leading civic university, with a dual focus on education & student experience and research & innovation, our strategy describes our vision of what good looks like as a dynamic, creative and inclusive institution.

The newly-created role of HR Manager (Strategic Delivery) will play a pivotal role in bringing our new People & Culture strategy to life. An excellent communicator, with the ability to engage our diverse workforce, you'll help us launch our strategy and coordinate progress of delivery across all of the six areas of focus in the Strategy - including Employee Engagement for which you will be responsible.

You'll help to develop best practice across the central and seven local (devolved) HR teams, tapping into the knowledge of our world-leading research academics and local HR teams, to ensure all Kent people have a consistent high-quality experience of working at the University, whether that's on our Canterbury or Medway campuses, or at one of our centres in Brussels and Paris.

Looking further ahead, you'll also play a leading role in developing our next generation, transformational People & Culture strategy for the period 2025 to 2030.

This is a fabulous opportunity to join a busy, vibrant and talented HR&OD team and wider HR community in one of the UK’s leading universities.  It would suit a positive, energetic and enthusiastic HR/engagement professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and to really make a difference.

In return, we can offer a friendly, open and collaborative working environment along with great staff benefits, including:

  • Hybrid working options allowing a flexible blend of office and home working
  • Very generous annual leave
  • An excellent pension scheme with generous employer contributions
  • A fantastic and beautiful campus, including many sport and recreational facilities available to staff members
