Payroll & Benefits Specialist £65k to £75k + Bonus - City

A leading global Investment Bank seek an experienced Payroll & Benefits specialist to help look after their UK, French, Swedish and Belgium payrolls and benefits offering.

This role reports directly into the Head of Compensation and you will be the subject matter expert working within a team of two.

Payroll:

  • Payroll calculations and instructions for staff in the UK, France, Belgium, Sweden offices
  • Review and second level sign off in alignment within the HR Compensation & Administration team
  • Ensure timely and accurate collection of data in and external systems for specific payroll needs (absences; statutory calculations; deductions; benefits, cost centres etc.)
  • Communication with external service providers on payroll topics (net pay details, employer reports etc.) as well as global mobility topics from time to time (such as secondments, business travel, tax/social security/pension related issues, visa, legal requirements, double taxation etc.)
  • Coordinate/perform any internal finance related activity to ensure correct payments and bookings

Benefits:

  • Review of existing flexible benefit schemes (contracts, premiums/ invoices, documentation, portal usability, online corporate accounts etc.), in close cooperation with external benefit providers
  • Analysis and conceptual input for annual benefits renewals, as well as monitoring of the annual benefits election windows
  • Support of enrolment paperwork for starters including timely completion and delivery to external benefit providers
  • Further development of assignment policies, related processes and documentation considering all relevant statutory changes
  • Manage annual reporting and compiling (such as P11Ds, PSAs, Short Term Business Visitor Agreements, social security returns, RTT buy outs, saving accounts, payroll and benefits costs)

Skills required:

  • Broad experience of UK Payroll & Benefits along with Belgium/Sweden/France advantageous
  • Working knowledge of personal UK tax matters (tax rates; tax codes; NI & statutory calculations; benefits in kind, pensions) required, Belgium/Sweden/France advantageous
  • International experience of working with benefit programmes with multiple providers required
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of numerical data and processing finance-based transactions
  • High capacity for managing multiple tasks/priorities, seeing them through to completion and identifying key activities for urgent action
  • Delivering high quality service in a fast paced environment
  • Able to work on own initiative, identifying issues and/or improvements to ensure the smooth running of the payroll and benefits function
