Oakleaf Partnership are excited to be working with one of the UK's leader in transport. This is wonderful time to join a company that is growing with scale and in this role you will be able to affect change to transform the business's HR policy and procedures.


In this role you will support delivery of the strategic people agenda within their specified local business units. This will include a range of activity spanning employee engagement, ED&I, change management, HR-related internal and external communication activity and projects, reward; and talent and performance management activity, sharing responsibility and accountability for outcomes as defined by the Head of HR.


You will operate as a trusted partner, demonstrate a high support and high challenge approach and work collaboratively within the HR function and other stakeholders.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Analyse data on organisation structure, accountabilities, and spans of control to support the business in effective strategic decision making.
* Assess the impact of key initiatives on factors such as behaviour, attitudes, culture, systems, and communication flows.
* Evaluation of roles and responsibilities, ensuring people objectives for key roles are fit for purpose and objectives are aligned to the overall business and people strategy.
* Coach and advise leaders in relation to the effectiveness of teams to ensure effective business performance and cross-team collaboration.
* Work with leaders and stakeholders to support them in developing the case for change, including the vision for change, key milestones, challenges and what success looks like with appropriate measures.
* Support acquisitions activity, ensuring the effective transfer and integration of employees.
* Work with leadership to continuously improve relationships with Trade Unions and actively seek involvement in Trade Unions in change projects to support better and more collaborative working relationships.
* Support the Head of HR in delivering the complex and difficult change and HR Projects cross-functionally as required, building robust and highly credible stakeholder relationships built on a deep knowledge of the function's business plans and priorities.


Talent Management
* Support leadership in building robust and effective talent and succession plans, ensuring a pipeline of talent across the business from both internal and external recruitment.
* Identify gaps and barriers in structure, people, process, or culture.
* Ensuring all candidates are presented accurately and pre-screened in line with company values.


Performance and Reward
* Ensure performance and development review process is applied consistently to maximise the potential of all colleagues.
* Utilise all available data to ensure best practice
* Work with leadership, with support from Reward partners, to develop reward requirements for key groups and individuals.
* Coach leadership to communicate clearly to teams on the link between organisation and individual performance, and the resulting reward.

Skills, Experience and Leadership Behaviours Required:
* Credibility as an HR Generalist and Business Leader
* Effectively and quickly build working relationships and influence at a senior level
* Experience working in large and diverse teams
* Attention to detail
* Collaborative
* Effectively monitor and evaluate trends in HR thought-leadership and implement strategy
* Understanding relevant UK Employment Legislation
* Qualified CIPD (Graduate or Member) - desirable depending on experience
* Project Management and Change Management skills
