People Services Administrator York (Y023) | Up to £23,000 | Office | Temp (3-6 months)

Your new company

A education organisation based in York is seeking a HR Administrator to come on-board, joining their welcoming, collaborative team. A role that will provide excellent exposure to the HR world for an enthusiastic HR professional.

Your new role

Within your new role, you will support the People Operations Advisor in providing an efficient recruitment service to the organisation. You will support the People Ops team with:

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Support the People Ops Advisor to deliver a full recruitment and selection service which will involve all aspects of the recruitment process from logging vacancies, placing adverts, logging CV's, liaising with candidates and preparing interview schedules.
  • Ensure that the People Assistant carry's out all pre-employment checks to include requesting references, health screening plus any other associated duties as required.
  • On a day to day basis manage the employee Right to Work documentation and Disclosure & Barring Service checks ensuring satisfactory completion before appointment.
  • Undertake the accurate inputting and maintenance of the People Management Information System ensuring payroll deadlines are met.

People Services Support

  • Provide senior administrative support for various people processes including leavers process.
  • Produce letters and other documents as requested by the People Services Team, distributing these as necessary in line with our Service Level Agreements.
  • Take accurate and appropriate minutes/notes at a variety of confidential meetings on behalf of the People Services Team, ensuring these are signed-off and distributed as required.
  • Maintain electronic filing systems, ensuring information is securely stored in line with our data retention processes.
  • Provide an approachable and helpful first point of contact on behalf of the People Services team to our internal and external customers via email, telephone or face to face.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experienced in developing own documents to meet a variety of needs
  • Experienced in providing excellent customer service
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong administrative and clerical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills, verbal (including telephone) and written (including letters and email)
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous experience in an administrative HR position is desirable
