Compliance Officer (AWR)

Luton / City of London

Hays has a fantastic opportunity to recruit a Compliance Officer (AWR), the role would ideally suit someone who has experience of pre-employment screening within a recruitment company and/or strong working knowledge of the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), however previous experience is not necessary as full training will be provided. You'll be working for a FTSE 250 company, the UK's market leader within the recruitment industry and offices across the world. Ideally you will be working in our Luton office, but we would consider applications from people wishing to work in the City of London.

Your new role

The role will primarily be focused on AWR Compliance, you will be responsible for supporting and observing Hays' operational business in their effective management of AWR compliant processes, ensuring Hays operate safely within legislative requirements. This will involve running periodic reports and as a subject matter expert you will provide advice and guidance on AWR to the business and external clients. Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests from the senior compliance management team and other key stakeholders. You will also be working with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Audit Team in completing their audit programme, with a focus on internal audits on Hays office's, who place temporary workers with our clients. These audits assess all screening documents obtained to ensure candidates are compliant in accordance with the legal and client requirements. In addition to supporting the team carry out audits on other agency workers from our suppliers.

What you will need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail combined with a methodical approach to your work. You should enjoy working in a fast paced and target orientated environment and be capable of handling confidential information, with a strong customer focus, and be able to communicate and liaise with people at all levels. As a strong team player, you should have a positive attitude to your work with a constant drive and motivation to represent the Hays brand in a professional manner. A background of administration work gained within a customer focused environment would be ideal. You will also be expected to undertake continued training and development to improve both personal and team performance.

Hays have a hybrid working pattern in which you will be expected to work in the office half the time and from home half the time, with flexibility on which days in the office.
