We’re currently looking for a Workforce & Resourcing Manager to join us in the Guildhall.

The City of Brilliant Workers

In this role you’ll lead, coach and manage your team in the provision of an effective and seamless resourcing function designed to attract high quality calibre candidates for the right role at the right time. Working with the Assistant Director of HR operations to shape the workforce strategy and design and implement an annual workforce plan, you’ll produce the organisational staffing plan and effect legally compliant onboarding processes. Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice to service department teams and HRBPs on complex workforce issues, and proposing creative solutions to meet departmental needs Working collaboratively with service departments to embed the resourcing plan within the organisation Working with other senior HR colleagues to provide coaching and mentoring Identifying the strategic organisational resourcing and workforce needs Promoting collaborative working and key messages through our organisation Acting as the custodian for workforce data, and taking responsibility for producing data that support succession planning Working with key stakeholders and the HR team to ensure that the workforce plan reflects the needs of the organisation, and that the resulting resourcing plan can support organisational requirements Ensuring the provision of excellent support across the full range of workforce issues Forecasting staffing needs and reflecting changes in workforce planning (including seasonal requirements) according to the needs of the organisation Anticipating staffing trends and feeding these into the workforce plan Communicating trends and changes with key stakeholders Working closely with the HRBP team to ensure the workforce plan is always up to date

The City of Skills

Ideally qualified to CIPD Level 5 and working towards Level 7, we’ll look for significant experience of working on workforce strategy and operational planning within a complex environment. Previous leadership and HR resourcing experience is important, and you should have the ability to understand and analyse complex information and key facts succinctly and persuasively. Confident when it comes to negotiating with senior leaders, you’ll have experience of managing and leading the onboarding experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders while working in a complex environment.

A strong understanding of employment and contract law is essential, as is the ability to communicate authoritatively and persuasively with colleagues at all levels of our organisation. Excellent problem-solving skills are essential, and you should also be capable of identifying pragmatic solutions to complex workforce or resourcing matters and applying these skills to align with the critical priorities of the business.
