A leading law firm based in Leeds is looking for a HR Manager to business partner with their head office functions. This is a hybrid role with c2 days a week on site.

Description

The interim HR Manager will take on business partnering responsibilities for the head office functions of this large law firm.

  • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the business area.
  • Provide first line HR support, advice and coaching to designated client groups on all HR issues including employee relations.
  • Manage the appraisal and salary review processes for client groups in conjunction with the leadership team.
  • Monitor performance and proactively deal with any issues in conjunction with the business.
  • Ensure all disciplinary and grievance issues are dealt with in accordance with policy and current employment legislation.
  • Monitor absence issues and proactively manage as appropriate.
  • Support client groups with succession planning and talent management
  • Drive forward a range of initiatives to encourage employee engagement in response to feedback received through the Engagement Survey.
  • Review online exit interviews and ensure thorough feedback is communicated to management as appropriate.
  • Drafting settlement agreements where necessary and liaising/negotiating with counsel, keeping HRD informed as appropriate.
  • Maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring that they continue to meet changing legislative and business requirements.
  • Work with the L&D team to ensure training needs and people development initiatives are delivered for client groups.
  • Regular attendance and participation at team meetings
  • Lead and manage delivery of specific projects as necessary to support the implementation of the people agenda. Proactively identify ad hoc projects as necessary.
  • Manage, support and develop a HR apprentice.

Profile

The interim HR Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the business services areas. You will need to be/have:

  • Proven experience of operating at HR Manager or HR Business Partner level.
  • Experience of working in a service oriented environment, ideally with head office functions. Exposure to the legal or professional services sector is ideal though not essential.
  • Experience of building credibility and working effectively with senior internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to make complex HR decisions autonomously.
  • Strong client service skills and resilient when dealing with demanding clients.
  • Strong knowledge base in all areas of HR including employee relations with a solid grounding in current Employment Law.
  • Commercial understanding.
  • CIPD qualification desirable.
  • Available to start in September or October and willing to commit for the 12 month contract.
