Senior HR Adviser (Pay and Reward)

Salary: £41,673 - £45,337 pa

Location: Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Manchester

Hours: Full time / Flexible working

Contract: Permanent

To ensure the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) continues to be a world-leading competition authority, it is vital that we continue to improve the productivity and performance of our people and ensure they are sufficiently rewarded. To ensure this continues, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Adviser to play a key role developing and delivering complex pay and reward activities.

You will work in our HR Operations team, delivering a high quality and customer focused HR operations service to internal CMA customers, external stakeholders and other parts of the HR directorate, with a focus on pay and reward.

Reporting to the HR Manager – Reward and Systems, you will be responsible for the full range of pay and reward activity, producing data and translating findings into strategy and delivery. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading on and delivering all work related to the annual pay settlement for all salary grades
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely implementation and communication of pay awards
  • Leading on the delivery of the annual gender and ethnicity pay gap reports
  • Leading the secretariat function of our remunerations committee
  • Reviewing, maintaining and advising on pay policies.

You will need relevant experience of working in a customer-facing HR environment, with experience of managing a range of pay and reward projects, deliverables and activities. You will also need experience of preparing pay and reward proposals, models, business cases or reports. Current knowledge of employment law and HR best practice in relation to pay and reward is equally important.

The CMA prides itself on being a great place to work and strives to ensure that staff have the opportunity to grow and expand their skills portfolio. As well as being a hugely rewarding, diverse and stimulating place to work, you will have an opportunity to work for the public good whilst stretching and developing yourself in doing so.

We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, including 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee well-being programme and favourable consideration of flexible working.

The CMA, like many other organisations, have moved to a hybrid working model with a mix of office and home working. We believe this supports us to deliver our best work while allowing the flexibility to maintain balanced and healthy lives. Our staff work at least 50% of their time from their office location.
