Job Details
The HR Advisor will provide professional advice and support to managers and colleagues on the effective application of HR policies and procedures to contribute to the recruitment, development and retention of employees and external talent.

Description
Key responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and projects
- Provide expert advice and coaching to managers and colleagues on all HR matters across the employee lifecycle
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on recruitment processes, to engage and employ new colleagues and drive talent into the organisation
- Contribute to the effective and consistent application of HR policies
- Provide effective, timely and confidential support on all employee well-being issues
- Case management including the provision of advice, coaching and support on probation processes, performance and capability reviews, absence management, resolution of grievance and disciplinary issues
- Build relationships within your business area and establish a reputation as a credible, informed and creative HR professional
- Monitor absence data to identify trends and highlight areas for investigation
- Provide management information and recommendations to contribute to business decisions
- Manage the end of fixed term employment contracts
- Contribute to the development and roll out of HR policies and projects, ensuring they are aligned to organisational values and employment law
- Support the implementation of organisational change, including selection, redeployment, redundancy and TUPE
- Support the ongoing development of the HR system to maintain the integrity of employee data
Profile
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a professional qualification in HR - e.g. CIPD level 5
- Experience in a generalist HR role within a large organisation
- Experience of HR issues relating to Higher Education
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience of supporting organisational change
- Experience of dealing with trade unions or other employee representative groups
- Experience of Employee Relations casework, including conduct and capability cases
- Ability to provide support and advice on the practical application of HR policies and procedures
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
