A Financial Services (Insurance) firm based in the City of London seeks an Interim HRBP (must be able to start at the end of September) to provide HR Advisory support working with teams, projects and individuals to deliver the HR and Business objectives across our client's UK, EU, Group Finance and International businesses.

Description

An Interim HRBP with the following:

Specific responsibilities:

  • Develop deep partnerships with stakeholders across the business
  • Support, execute and implement group people initiatives developed by the Centres of Expertise along with delivering the annual people cycle/calendar of activities
  • Support and manage, from a people perspective, TUPE's and M&A activity, liaising with the Centres of Expertise as required

Support drive towards automation and modernisation of HR process to move marginal cost as close to zero as possible

  • Ensure people data is robust and complete to maximise efficient delivery and the ability for data driven insight for decision making
  • Scale up the HR Business Partner Delivery to meet the needs of the business strategy across jurisdictions and consistently
  • Be a strong business partner
  • Having an effective role in restructuring/organisational design and change programmes by providing transformational advice to managers and refocusing organisational structures on strategic objectives
  • Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks within the business area(s)
  • Embed a performance and talent management culture within the business by helping to identify talent issues before they impact the business and creating a vision for talent strategy within the business area(s)
  • Facilitate Talent Management calibration sessions and business area(s) management meetings as required
  • Perform detailed and expert analysis and evaluation of the full range of available HR MI to correctly identify and diagnose emerging gaps or trends and development needs to support effective workforce planning within the designated business area(s

People Management

  • Support the managers in creating an inclusive culture where people are objectively measured on their performance
  • Understand our people and enable engagement with them at all levels
  • Drive a culture of talent management through the business where each people leader plays their role in actively managing and developing their people to ensure our people are the best available in the market and are delivering to the best of their potential
  • Act as a single point of contact for senior managers in the designated business area(s) and understand how to support the business and adjust HR strategies to respond to changing business needs
  • Provide a consultancy service that proactively delivers HR best practice and commercially focused HR solutions that support the business
  • Develop strong and effective working relationships with the business, influencing and challenging managers on their personal style and the development and delivery of their people plans in support of the achievement of business objectives and HR strategies
  • Work in true partnership with the Centres of Excellence and HR Shared Service teams to deliver fit for purpose HR interventions to the business
  • Works with the business area(s) to design succession plans for key talents/positions

  • When exercising your responsibilities, you must pay due regard to the interests of current and potential future policyholders in ensuring the provision by the firm of an appropriate degree of protection for their insured benefits

Conduct:

To ensure that implications for stakeholders, particularly policyholders, are given appropriate consideration in our approach to business and that conduct is given appropriate consideration throughout the role to deliver fair customer outcomes.

Profile

An Interim HRBP that can demonstrate:

  • Degree level or equivalent

  • CIPD or equivalent

Industry & function

  • Demonstrable recent senior HRBP experience within the UK
  • Proven track record of enhancing business performance in a leadership role

Relationships

  • Held a Manager to Senior manager role mid/large complex national and matrix organisation across multiple lines of business within either insurance or reinsurance at group level within the UK
  • Has good external networks with a wide spectrum of stakeholder groups at a range of levels and critical contacts at highest levels

Role challenges

  • Ability to deal with change and willing to take a hands-on approach
  • Strong Management capability
  • Very comfortable operating in a matrix environment
