Oakleaf Partnership Midlands are currently looking to recruit an HR Advisor for a legal firm to be based in Birmingham.

As an HR Advisor, you will assist with the day to day running of the People function across the entire employee lifecycle.

Duties:

* Liaising with partners and trainees to schedule and communicate the trainee seat rotation.

* Building a solid working relationship with the Training Principal and trainee supervisors to ensure trainees are engaged and developed * Managing the enrolment of new trainees and newly qualified solicitors with the SRA and the Law Society

* Dealing with ad hoc queries from trainees and being their first point of contact.

* Coordinating and attending trainee meetings every six months with the HRBP's and Training Principal

* Organising trainee events and informational sessions

* Responding to routine HR queries raised by applicants, the team, and managers in accordance with approved policy and procedures and refer more complex questions to the People and Culture Manager

* Working closely with relevant HR team members to resource a range of roles and in particular Paralegals, Business Services and PA staff

* Ensuring recruitment and selection process are adhered to and appropriate immigration checks are carried out

* Ensuring an effective system is in place for monitoring and confirming review periods and working with managers/ supervisors to enable individuals to perform to the required standard

* Ensure the HR system (OpenHR) and other relevant management systems are kept up to date

* Input data and other information in line with department guidelines and requirements

* Produce accurate and relevant management information and proactively identify trends and support initiatives to address any issues and make recommendations for improvements.

* Keep up to date with employment legislation changes and proactively contribute to any necessary HR process and/or systems changes

* Contribute to the annual review of the Employee Handbook, ensuring that all policies and procedures are maintained effectively

* Contribute to relevant HR and firm wide audits and any subsequent action plans, particularly in relation to the firm's external accreditations.
