We are working with a manufacturing client in Wigan who are seeking temporary support from an Assistant HR Business Partner. The role will be for 6 months minimum and support HR Business Partners with generalist work and data analytics. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a generalist HR background looking to step up into a Business Partner role.

Client Details

Our client are a well-recognised global manufacturing business with a site in Wigan. Due to lots of project work across the business, their HR team need temporary support from an Assistant HR Business Partner. The role supports a wider HR team and works directly with HRBPs. Day-to-day tasks will be generalist and there will also be a focus on data analytics and HR reporting to assist with process implementation. The role is initially for a minimum 6 month period.


The key responsibilities for the Assistant HR Business Partner in Wigan are:

  • assist with the development and implementation of organisational and people related strategy
  • provide expertise in talent planning and management, performance management, reward and recognition, learning and development, change and organisational development
  • ensure budget and additional challenges are fully met through robust tracking and analysis
  • solve problems and get to the root cause of complex issues/cases.
  • design and implement organisation wide solutions
  • work with HR specialist teams and shared services to manage people related activity and data management
  • management of employee relation issues, coaching and mentoring people team
  • build and work in partnership with Senior Union stewards
  • analyse data and statistics for trends, identifying opportunities for improvements and to aid decision making
  • optimising and implementing new data processes and systems


The successful candidate will have/be:

  • previous experience in a HR generalist capacity
  • advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • high standard of analytical capability
  • excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • ability to work at pace and to deadlines
  • experience of unionised environment desirable not essential
  • CIPD qualification desirable not essential
  • willingness to learn and develop into a business partner role

Job Offer

Our client offers a minimum 6 month temp work, hourly rate based off salary c£35-40K, on-site parking, 27 days holiday pro rata'd.
