As Reward Manager, you will lead on implementing and embedding new reward programmes such as base pay structure, performance incentives/benefits, while establishing creative ways to continuously improve existing reward programmes. You will also lead large reward projects such as T&Cs reviews, pay deals (including union negotiations), new programme development, insourcing and large TUPE transfers. Managing a small team. This role offers hybrid working.

Description

Our client in Reading is looking for an accomplished Reward Manager to lead reward operations across the business, continuing the function's progress in simplifying and refining its programmes and processes.

You will partner with the HR Director to help define the reward road-map and strategy during an exciting turnaround project.

You will be responsible for -

  • Leading the reward team to provide strong advice and counsel to HRBPs, other HR CoEs and leaders across the business to ensure we attract, retain and motivate the right people through a fair, equitable and transparent reward approach.
  • Implementing and embedding new reward programmes including our base pay structure, performance incentives and benefits.
  • Establishing creative ways to continuously improve existing reward programmes and processes.
  • Leading large reward projects such as terms & conditions reviews, pay deals (including union negotiations), new programme development, in-sourcing and large TUPE transfers including potential harmonisation.
  • Building strong relationships with the HR Directors and other HR CoE leads, staying connected to developments across the People function.
  • Working with the HR Systems lead to ensure our HRIS is configured to run and maintain solid reward data, programmes and processes.
  • Being the ultimate subject matter expert on reward (excluding pensions), keeping abreast of trends and thinking in reward and HR, challenging HR and business leadership to promote positive change at group level.

Essential requirements

  • Significant reward management experience gained in a large operational business.
  • Strong exposure to reward strategy development.
  • Have managed several reward cycles including salary and bonus review.
  • Reward programme development & implementation experience e.g. incentive schemes, benefits platforms.
  • Understanding of and experience working with HR systems.
  • Track record leading a small team.
  • Exposure to a unionised environment.
  • Exceptional analytical skills - high numeracy and curiosity to find & interrogate data using advanced Excel knowledge.
  • First class communication skills to advise and influence at all levels of the organisation.

Desirable requirements

  • Track record leading a small team.
  • Executive compensation experience.
  • Experience working directly with unions.
  • LTIP administration experience.
  • SAP HR experience.
  • Power BI knowledge.
  • Post-secondary qualification in an analytical subject e.g. Economics, Maths.
  • Professional recognition especially GRP or CIPD.

Job Offer

This Reward Manager role in Reading offers:

  • Car allowance - £5,800 (paid as a monthly cash allowance).
  • Bonus - 15% of base salary on target; 30% of base salary stretch.
  • Annual Leave - 26 days increasing to a maximum of 30 with service.
  • Pension - 3% employee contribution, 6% employer; option to increase to 6% employee, 12% employer.
  • Death in Service - 8 x base pay.
  • Medical Insurance - Private for employee
