Company

PGL
PGL is the UK’s leading provider of residential activity holidays for children and more than 250,000 young guests enjoy the time of their life on our trips each year. That’s a lot of hungry mouths to feed!

If you’re looking for the next step in your catering career, a job that offers life a world away from the norm or a summer job in between ski seasons, then PGL could be for you.

We have current seasonal vacancies for experienced Chefs and Cooks at several locations across the UK and France. Flexible-length contracts are available, starting in March or April 2010.

Formal qualifications are a benefit, but not essential as we’re more interested in your work history to prove that you can do the job. You’ll be preparing wholesome, canteen-style meals for our young guests and staff, three times a day, six days a week in a split shift rota pattern.

Covers depend on the number of guests at the centre, with our smallest catering for just 50 and the largest for almost 1,000 per meal time. There’s plenty of scope for personal development and options for you to chose the size of operation that suits your skills and experience – and career aims for the future.

At PGL we believe in living life to the full, for both guests and staff. We offer the opportunity to live in some of Europe’s most beautiful locations where you could find yourself doing things you’ve never dreamt of including watersports, climbing, mountain biking or exploring the local area in your free time – or simply relaxing on the beach.

Many of our staff return for several seasons and we offer all levels of training courses, from in-house health and safety to Advanced Apprenticeships in Hospitality and Catering.

All of our staff team members receive a competitive wage, meals, highly subsidised on-site accommodation, holiday entitlement, free services and benefits, as well as the chance to live in a unique, supportive environment with like-minded people from around the world.

If you think you’ve got the energy, dedication and catering skills we’re looking for, our jobs offer you a truly rewarding, fun experience that’s more than just a job.
