The role of the Workforce Development Manager is to maximise workforce performance by designing and managing strategies, frameworks, policies and tools to ensure staff and managers have the right skills, competences and behaviours

My client is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a variety of transformational services across local communities nationwide.

Description

The overall purpose of the role;

  • Maximising workforce performance by designing and managing strategies, frameworks, policies and tools to ensure staff and managers have the right skills, competences and behaviours to achieve the organisation's goals.
  • Driving forward the delivery of the Workforce Development Strategy and People and Organisational Development Strategy
  • Ensuring that the Values, Behaviours and equality, diversity and inclusion commitments are embedded into all learning and development activities




Reporting into the HR Director, and taking responsibility for the line management of an Assistant Workforce Manager, the role will have responsibility for (but not be limited to);

  • Lead on the design, management and delivery of workforce development initiatives which provide staff and managers with the skills, competences and behaviours to deliver the strategic and tactical objectives and goals
  • Lead on the development and delivery of the Fund's Workforce Development Strategy, including the annual review of the in-house learning programme
  • To lead on the development of workforce development policies and procedures including leading on career development, talent management and succession planning
  • Lead on learning and development activities which drive forward the Performance Management Framework, overseeing the performance management processes, ensuring ensure all personal development plans (PDPs) are received, recorded and actioned as necessary
  • Lead on organisational Training Needs Analysis and skills audits, as well as the coordination and alignment of development activities to ensure that local needs meet strategic needs and vice versa
  • Proactively build and maintain effective relationships with internal key stakeholders to support the identification, development and delivery of effective development activities
  • Work closely with various leaders across the organisation and have a full understanding of their business needs and development requirements
  • Work collaboratively with the Workforce Equality and Culture Lead and Executive Directors to actively promote culture change, support new learning initiatives which support new ways of working and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with HR colleagues to ensure learning and development activities are identified and delivered when there are changes to HR systems, processes and policies, as well as learning required to support organisational change programmes

Profile

The ideal candidate will be an existing L&D and OD professional, ideally within a not-for-profit or public sector environment that has been through transformational change

Job Offer

A salary of circa £40,000-£42,000 plus hybrid working and benefits. There may be adhoc travel required across 11 other nationwide sites
