Job Details

Ashley Kate are pleased to be partnering with a professional services company on their HR and Operations Manager role.  Reporting to the Managing partner,  you will be working alongside the leadership team on a full generalist HR remit but also lead on any transformation projects and so it is key that you have a proven background in this.  With one team member, you will be responsible for all areas of coaching as needed. You will be providing HR strategic and operational support for the firm, provide day to day advice and guidance on employment legislation, best practice, the firm's policies, procedures, benefits, and will work to deliver the recruitment and other objectives of the firm.


You will need to be able to start by February 2023 and this is a Permanent position.  With the Head office in Manchester, this is a Hybrid role.

HR and Operations Manager - About you

  • Experience of being a manager who can deliver the more traditional HRM responsibilities and have experience of managing a team.
  • A proven generalist HR experience, gained within a professional services environment (e.g. a law firm ideally)
  • Comfortable handling own employee relations cases;
  • Experience of the full TUPE processes (in and out) would be advantageous.
  • experience of leading or being involved in HR change management projects;
  • The ability to take a commercial approach when making recommendations to the Directors and partnership;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to get on with a wide range of people at all levels;
  • Conducting recruitment interviews and experience of the graduate recruitment process would be desirable;
  • strong academics are required (fully CIPD qualified, part-CIPD qualified or equivalent qualifications);
  • Knowledge of reviewing and drafting HR policies and/or employee handbooks;
  • Sound knowledge of current UK employment legislation and recognised HR best practice is required;
  • IT skills are required that include a good working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel, as well as experience of an HR database.
